PALIMPSEST 4 : URINAL FIXTURES / 2006

Next time you find yourself in front of a urinal, have a look at the fixture on the top of the unit. You'll probably see something that looks just like the image to the left - the only difference will be the pattern of tool marks on its surface. I'm not sure why yet, but this idea fascinates me. The octagonal nut on top of the valve is intended to be universal, identical, and interchangeable, yet each bears the unique marks of its installation.

Once I spend a little more time with the idea I'll finish the work. Like Palimpsest 3, it will probably manifest as a digital print series.
